Babyscripts

Babyscripts is an app-based maternity care management platform providing prenatal and postpartum education, continuous care coordination, and health monitoring services. The company claims obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) can manage up to 90% of pregnancies using its virtual care platform.

Users can only sign up for the service during a prenatal office visit with their OB/GYN. Patients receive a Mommy Kit which includes an app and connected medical devices to track health metrics such as blood pressure, weight gain, or glucose levels (depending on their care plan). The company alerts the OB/GYN if readings go beyond a healthy range while doctors can manage care plans virtually by assigning new tasks and educational resources tailored to the user through the Babyscripts app.

As of September 2021, Babyscripts experienced a 10x enrollment growth during the post-pandemic period to reach 250,000 with more than 70% of patients on Medicaid. Additionally, the company entered into an agreement with Privia Health, a population health management company, to make Babyscripts more accessible to its provider network across the US. In November 2021, Babyscripts concluded an oversubscribed Series B funding totalling USD 19 million which will be used to expedite the launch of its Virtual Maternity Care offering to care providers across the US, develop models focusing on payers, and build out its pregnancy and postpartum care solution. The company also intends to expand to all 50 US states (from 32).
