SeaTrac Systems is a Massachusetts-based company specializing in the design and development of solar-powered uncrewed surface vehicles (boat drones) for in-shore and open-ocean missions. These vehicles derive their energy from solar panels; propulsion is provided by an electric motor.

SeaTrac Systems' SP-48 is commercially available. It is a low-logistic, sensor-agnostic, persistent USV with Automatic Identification System (AIS) collision avoidance, a speed of five knots, 500 W payload power, and a 70 kg payload capacity. It has a total battery capacity of 6.75 kWh, making it suitable for hosting various sensors for real-time ocean data collection and communication over extended periods. The company claims that its vehicle can go upwind, downwind, loiter, cut tight radius corners, and operate in two feet of water, as well as in the open ocean for months at a time. The SP-48 can be used for marine and aquatic research, oceanography and meteorological monitoring, environmental monitoring, hydrography, acoustic monitoring, data gateway and data harvesting, mobile buoy and positioning, security, and situational awareness, among others.

As of August 2023, the company's Task Force 59 model was in development and exercise mode.

Key customers and partnerships
