Connie Health offers senior citizens an AI-driven recommendation engine with local agents for personalized health plans and healthcare navigation in the medicare system with the goal of replacing transactional and complicated insurance brokerage systems. The company was founded by the previous executives Iora Health (a primary care provider which was acquired by OneMedical for USD 2.1 billion).
Connie Health provides the service free of charge to customers and earns commission revenue from insurance companies when a client joins a plan. The company also claims that local agents receive a flat fee despite the insurance company or plan selected to ensure agents remain impartial. The platform is available in Arizona and Texas as of July 2021.
In July 2021, the company raised USD 13 million in a Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures (which also led the seed round in January 2020) and Pitango Healthtech. The company earmarked the funds for improving its technology, expanding its local agent network in Arizona and Texas, launching in Illinois by the end of 2021, and advancing its nationwide expansion in 2022.
