Sora Schools is a live, virtual high school using a differentiated educational model that applies a personalized, multimodal, and synchronous curriculum. The school’s learning model centers around collaborative, student-driven projects. Sora Schools’s program was developed in collaboration with faculty and administration at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the school promotes a blend of live and independent learning. The school’s Work+Study program connects students with internships and their earnings go toward their tuition.
Funding and financials
In November 2021, the company raised USD 18 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Hemant Taneja at General Catalyst. It planned to use the funds to offer more after-school activities and an expanded curriculum for junior high students.
