Ōmcare offers a remote care device for the elderly, which mainly caters to seniors aging in their own homes and suffer from chronic and complex health conditions. The device supports medication adherence by incorporating on-time medication dispensing with visual confirmation that the user has taken the correct medicine at the right time.
Moreover, the device also includes a video calling function to allow the seniors, family members, and medical personnel to communicate. This can also address the potential social isolation of elders living on their own.
The company entered into a pilot program with Ecumen Senior Care and Thrifty White Pharmacy, to be conducted in early 2021, to assess the effectiveness of Ōmcare in improving medication adherence and reducing isolation. Ōmcare intends to build on the pilot program and commercially launch its product later in 2021.
