Semsee

Semsee is a platform that simplifies and accelerates the small commercial insurance quoting experience for independent agents. It combines technology, workflow efficiencies, data, and analytics to enable agents to receive fast and accurate quotes from multiple appointed carriers through a single-form submission. Semsee's user interface consolidates carrier-specific questions, allowing agents to seamlessly answer queries and obtain accurate multi-carrier quotes. The platform offers quotes for Business Owners Policies (BOP), Package, Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Cyber insurance. As of March 2023, Semsee had integrated with nearly 20 carriers and was continually adding more.

Semsee's key differentiator is its ability to streamline the quoting process, making it faster and more efficient for agents. By submitting a single application, agents can generate quotes from various carriers, compare coverage options, pricing, and terms, thereby saving valuable time. The platform also enables agents to access new insurance products and markets they may not be familiar with, expanding their business opportunities.

In March 2022, Semsee added multi-location quoting capabilities, allowing agents to generate quotes for businesses with multiple locations through a single digital form. This feature significantly reduced workflow and enabled agents to quote larger accounts and risks more efficiently. Additionally, in October 2022, Semsee introduced ACORD upload and download functionality, enabling seamless integration with agency management systems and eliminating the need for rekeying data.

Key customers and partnerships

In August 2022, Semsee launched Appetite Checker, a free resource available to all agents, enabling them to obtain real-time market appetite information from carriers, MGAs, and MGUs for Business Owners Policies. This tool aimed to solve a critical pain point for agents - finding insurance markets that match customer needs.

Semsee has partnered with Cowbell Cyber to offer standalone cyber coverage on its platform, catering to the growing demand for cyber insurance among small and mid-sized businesses. In June 2022, Semsee integrated with Coterie Insurance, a digital-first MGA, to provide agents access to Coterie's small business insurance products, including BOP and General Liability.

As of February 2024, Semsee had established a groundbreaking partnership with the Independent Insurance Agents of San Diego (IIASD), revolutionizing how IIASD agents write small commercial insurance. This collaboration introduced Semsee's cutting-edge quoting platform to IIASD agents, streamlining the quoting process, providing access to multiple carriers, and offering advanced quoting tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
