Chef Robotics designs and develops AI-powered robotic solutions for restaurant food assembly tasks at large industrial kitchens and ghost kitchens. Chef Robotics’ product offering, available on a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) basis, includes off-the shelf robotic-hardware powered by the company's proprietary software, "ChefOS." ChefOS is trained to manipulate various ingredients using data gathered from sensors attached to the arms of the robots.
In July 2024, Chef Robotics, announced its exit from stealth to unveil an AI-powered food assembly robot named "Chef." Chef is designed for high-volume assembly tasks and can assemble or plate cooked and ready-to-eat meals.
In September 2024, Chef Robotics launched “Placement QA,” a new food placement quality assurance feature for meal assembly. Placement QA uses computer vision to track containers on a production line and capture images before and after food has been plated. The feature provides food companies with imagery data on every ingredient deposit and meal assembled, which can be combined with existing pick weight data to assess meal quality.
