Paris-based Zama is a company building open-source cryptography tools, using homomorphic encryption to enable developers to build data privacy protection into their solutions. Fully Homomorphic Encryption allows data to be processed without decrypting it, allowing organizations to offer products and services without requiring access to sensitive information.
Zama’s encryption technology enables a variety of uses, including confidential smart contracts for blockchain and web3, encrypted machine learning, and cloud applications. The company’s open-source toolkit, “Concrete ML,” allows data scientists with no prior knowledge of cryptography to convert large language models (LLMs) into encrypted versions.
Key customers and partnerships
In May 2024, Zama partnered with Web3 platform Galactica.com to integrate Fully Homomorphic Encryption into the Web3 Identity Stack.
