Simple Homes develops single-family residential units and accessory dwelling units (ADUs) using a panelized building system, targeting individual home buyers. It also offers panelized framing solutions for single-family and multifamily residential units, targeting developers. The company provides a set of pre-designed floor plans with options for customization as well as fully custom designs. All the houses are designed using a digital fabrication model (using digital twin technology) and transmitted digitally to the factory floor for production using a panelized building system. The company reports that this system reduces 75–90% of the framing time compared to traditional construction. Its digital fabrication and material optimization algorithm is reported to reduce material waste in framing by up to 15%. The company also offers options for zero energy generation, a smart homes package, and electric car charging, at an additional cost.
Its manufacturing plant is situated in Denver and provides free transportation within 75 miles of the city. The transportation fee is around USD 2 for every additional mile. By July 2021, Simple Homes had completed six projects with around 10 ongoing projects at the time.
In November 2022, Simple Homes acquired roof and floor truss manufacturer Rigid Component Systems to integrate Rigid’s proprietary business operations software to utilize Rigid’s capabilities and assets into its turnkey framing business.
