UK-based Treeapp offers a mobile app that allows users to remotely plant trees in global reforestation projects listed on the platform. The app allows users to plant trees for free by viewing ads. The funds to support tree planting are sponsored by sustainable companies featured in the mobile app or by third-party advertisers who display ads. Users can also plant additional trees at a cost of GBP 1 (USD 1.4) per tree.
In November 2021, the company also launched Treeapp Marketplace, which allows consumers to discover sustainable brands and shop directly from the Treeapp mobile app. Eco-friendly products that associate values such as zero-waste, vegan, or plastic free will be sold through the marketplace.
