Tachyus is a Houston-based software company that provides reservoir optimization solutions and carbon emissions management platforms for the oil and gas industry. Its core offering includes software modules like Strateon for subsurface allocation, Aqueon for managing and optimizing waterfloods, and Trypion for optimizing infill drilling locations. These modules leverage machine learning, artificial intelligence, and traditional reservoir physics to enhance strategic resource deployment and improve overall field performance. In June 2022, India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) selected Tachyus to optimize its mature waterflood fields in the country.
Additionally, Tachyus launched Aurion, a cloud-scalable platform, in 2021 to help companies estimate, forecast, and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Aurion enables operators to establish a GHG baseline, monitor emissions across assets, and forecast future emissions based on operational decisions, aligning with their net-zero targets. In December 2022, Butler-Cohen Design+Build, a construction company, contracted Aurion to estimate and report its carbon footprint. In May 2023, Lime Rock Resources, an oil and gas company, implemented Aurion to mitigate its carbon footprint and enhance environmental disclosures.
Key customers and partnerships
In January 2024, Tachyus entered into its first partnership in Brazil with PetroReconcavo, an energy company operating 56 oil and gas concessions. PetroReconcavo integrated Tachyus' waterflood solutions, including Strateon, Aqueon, and Trypion modules, to optimize efficiency, maximize production, and enhance overall field performance across its key fields in Brazil's northeast region.
