The app's core functionality enables athletes and parents to search for and book private training sessions with qualified coaches based on location services. Trainers, on the other hand, can promote their services and schedule sessions directly through the platform, streamlining the process for both parties.

Utrain's unique business model operates on a commission basis, eliminating hosting or transaction fees typically associated with competing platforms. This approach allows trainers to receive payments automatically and instantly. Furthermore, the app facilitates the organization of pickup games by enabling users to share court locations and send notifications to other players in the area.

In June 2022, Utrain announced a global partnership with Ganon Baker Basketball, a renowned brand in the basketball training industry. This collaboration enables trainers to complete the Ganon Baker Certification Program and display the globally recognized credential on their Utrain profiles, ensuring athletes and parents access highly qualified professionals.
