Founded in 2019, the company offers a suite of virtual healthcare services delivered 24/7 via phone, video calls, and online chat. HealthHero's digital triage tool acts as a navigator, directing users to appropriate practitioners or treatments through its communication tools. The platform aims to simplify healthcare access and improve efficiency by combining digital convenience with human expertise.

HealthHero's services cover a wide spectrum of care, including consultations with general practitioners, mental health providers, and specialists. In addition to direct-to-consumer offerings, HealthHero works with businesses, insurers, and national health services to provide healthcare access to employees, policyholders, and patients.

The company has expanded rapidly through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. In April 2021, HealthHero acquired Qare, a French telehealth provider, cementing its position as Europe's largest telehealth company. HealthHero operates in the UK, Ireland, France, and Germany under various brands including HealthHero, Qare, and Fernarzt.

In January 2023, HealthHero launched Symbio, a workplace wellbeing digital solution. This platform provides personalized support for employee mental and physical health through a central dashboard, self-guided programs, and on-demand clinical services. The company also introduced MediRedi, a flagship teleconsultation service, as part of its efforts to reshape the healthcare journey.

HealthHero has carried out several acquisitions over the years, including 1) Fernarzt.com, (a German medical consultation platform) in August 2020, 2) MyClinic (an Irish telehealth company) in January 2021, and 3) Qare (a French telemedicine platform) in April 2021 to expand its footprint in Europe. The company also acquired Doctorlink in December 2020 to provide online triage services via the Healthhero platform.

In November 2023, the company partnered with Everyone Active, a UK leisure operator, to provide virtual GP access to members through the new Everyone Wellness membership. This partnership allows Everyone Active customers to access HealthHero's virtual GP service through video and phone consultations.

In May 2023, HealthHero formed a partnership with Circle Health Group, the UK's largest private hospital group. Through this collaboration, HealthHero provides virtual General Practitioner (GP) services across Circle's network of over 50 hospitals, offering health advice and facilitating onward referrals within the group's hospital network.
