Adaptive Shield

Adaptive Shield provides a SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) platform that enables continuous visibility of an organization’s SaaS ecosystem. The platform provides a total security score of each application, affected categories, affected security standards, and automated monitoring capabilities, which sends detailed alerts when security misconfigurations and misappropriated privileges occur, and it proactively remediates these vulnerabilities while complying with security standards and benchmarks. Adaptive Shield provides a unified security solution that includes data leakage prevention, access control, malware protection, privacy control, and more.

The platform integrates with more than 50 SaaS applications such as Office 365, Salesforce, Okta, Slack, and Zoom, and the company intends to triple this to 150-200 applications by the end of 2022. The company counts Fortune 500 companies such as Home Depot among its customers, and as of October 2021, had a headcount of 25.

Key customer and partnerships

Adaptive Shield partnered with the endpoint security provider CrowdStrike in March 2022, to launch its zero-trust SaaS security posture management solution in CrowdStrike Store. Adaptive Shield integrated its solution with the CrowdStrike Falcon platform to enable security teams to identify and remediate risks stemming from misconfigurations and misappropriated privileges through device posture visibility and continuous risk assessment across the SaaS stack.

Funding and financials

In October 2021, the company raised USD 30 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. The company expects to use the funds to accelerate growth through global expansion, product innovation, and hiring staff in the areas of R&D, customer success, and sales.

Adaptive Shield received a strategic investment of USD 10 million from Blackstone Innovations Investments, reportedly as part of a wider strategic partnership between the two firms to further integrate Adaptive Shield’s technology into Blackstone’s operations.
