 <p>Short-term rental company Sonder has entered into a licensing agreement with Marriott International. This deal allows Marriott to sell over 9,000 of Sonder’s properties, with an expected additional 1,500 units to be included in the future.</p>
 <p>Sonder has managed to raise $146 million in funding following this agreement. The funding includes $43 million from an investor consortium and $83 million from holders of existing Sonder notes.</p>
 <p>The raised funds are intended to boost Sonder’s balance sheet, thus enhancing its strategy of value maximization in tandem with the Marriott licensing agreement.</p>
 <p>Following the agreement, Sonder's properties can be accessed via Marriott's distribution platforms, including its websites and loyalty program mobile application under the Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy banner. Sonder predicts that this move will lead to an increase in revenue per available room and cost savings over time.</p>
