Maolac is a biotechnology company that develops functional protein formulations with a high biosimilarity to human breast milk. The company leverages its proprietary AI system, Maoreka, which uses computational biology and natural language processing to analyze protein combinations and identify specific functional proteins from natural dairy or plant-based sources. Through this technology, Maolac creates protein mixtures that demonstrate efficacy at low dosages. 

The company's first product line includes Maolactin for Gut Support and Maolactin for Anti-Inflammatory Activity, which is based on targeted bovine colostrum isolates. These products are heat- and pH-proof and can be integrated into various formats including functional beverages, sports bars, and smoothies without affecting their organoleptic properties. Maolac has achieved self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status in the US. Beyond colostrum, the company has expanded its technology to identify functional proteins in other sources including fungi, algae, and plants, with plans to launch plant-based versions of its products.

Key customers and partnerships

Maolac has announced it was in advanced discussions for joint development agreements with several leading Israeli companies in the food and supplements markets. The company has also partnered with a baby formula company in the US. In the European market, Maolac was working toward launching in collaboration with dairy companies in Spain and Israel. The company was targeting sports nutrition manufacturers, functional foods producers, beverage companies, and supplement manufacturers as its key customer segments.
