EcoCart enables consumers to offset their carbon emissions by providing an e-commerce plugin for merchants and a browser extension that calculates the consumers’ carbon footprint on orders. Users can then obtain carbon offsets by donating to verified projects.
Key customers and partnerships
In February 2022, EcoCart collaborated with Ohi, a delivery partner for e-commerce platforms, to offer a carbon-neutral option to Ohi brand partners and its customers. The company also partnered with notable platforms such as Shopify to let customers donate to ESG-focused initiatives at checkout. EcoCart provides emission tracking for a wide range of companies in the packaging, apparel, cosmetics, and home goods industries. As of March 2024, the company supported more than 2,000 customers including Siete Foods, Walmart Canada, Supergoop!, Bird Scooters, Mr. Beast's Feastables and APL, among others.
Funding and financials
The company’s most recent funding was in October 2022, when it raised USD 14.5 million in a Series A round led by Fifth Wall Climate. The funds were used to hire additional product, sales and marketing teams, and to scale up its portfolio offering.In April 2021, EcoCart was financed in a seed round of USD 3 million led by Base10 Partners.
