Nomitri is a Berlin-based developer of smart carts and self-checkout fraud prevention solutions. EmSCO, Nomitri’s self-checkout fraud prevention system, can be retrofitted into existing self checkouts with the addition of a camera and a GPU unit. EmSCO’s Edge visual AI assistant can identify self-checkout mistakes and frauds, such as unscanned item or wrong products or quantity, and notify the shopper and the store managers for rectification. The technology also has the ability to identify fruits and vegetables and offers an age estimation feature to facilitate the sale of age-restricted items.
EmCart is a mobile phone- or tablet-based smart cart software. Retailers can retrofit EmCart-powered tablets into their existing shopping carts to convert them into smart carts. EmCart uses visual AI to identify items picked up by the customers and enables them to complete the transaction using the mobile devices. Similarly, retailers can also install a phone holder to their existing smart carts to enable customers to use their mobile devices equipped with EmCart to scan items entered in a cart.
