Haystack is an enterprise intranet platform co-founded by a former senior software engineer at Google, Haibo Zhao. In addition, the founding engineering team has personnel from Snap and PayPal. Haystack connects employees in one centralized hub, and the platform integrates with SaaS business tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Workday. It also offers an API for custom integrations.
The platform allows teams to search for content across all the tools they use, which can be accessed through Haystack’s centralized hub. The platform’s other features include employee directories, event management portals, and strong security features with single sign-on authentication to prevent corporate information leakage. The platform reports it uses tailored pricing across its Professional and Enterprise tiers.
In March 2021, the company announced its launch out of stealth with USD 8.2 million in funding. The funding is from a seed round raised in October 2020 with participation from Greycroft, Coatue Management, and Day One Ventures. In addition, angel investor Biz Stone (co-founder, Twitter) also participated.
