Oxygen Esports is a team organization competing in esports titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six. The team was formed through a merger between Helix eSports and Team Genji, which were later acquired by Esports Entertainment Group in October 2020. The team launched in May 2020 with the acquisition of Team Reciprocity and its esports rosters, its Rainbow Six and Rocket League teams being the most successful.
In November 2020, the team announced that it is expanding into PUBG mobile esports in India following its signing of former Fnatic (UK-based esports team) player Harpreet Singh “Ronak” Janjuha. This marks the team’s first entry into India and mobile esports
In December 2021, Oxygen Esports merged with Boston Uprising, an esports team organization owned by the Kraft Group, to create Boston Breach and acquire the 12th Call of Duty League (CDL) Boston franchise slot left vacant due to OpTic Gaming’s merger with Envy Gaming.
In July 2023, the company changed its branding, aiming to overhaul all parts of its visual identity. The new branding connects all of the company’s franchises and assets under one global brand, changing the company’s logo style.
Funding and financials
In April 2022, Oxygen Esports closed its USD 20 million Series A funding round from pro golfer Jon Rahm. The fresh funding was used to relocate its esports rosters to Boston and invest in an amateur esports ecosystem in the area.
