Satellogic is a vertically integrated geospatial company specializing in high-resolution Earth observation (EO) data collection from low-Earth orbit (LEO). The company designs, builds, and operates a fleet of sub-meter-resolution satellites. This imagery caters to commercial, environmental, and government applications, including disaster response, energy prospecting, infrastructure monitoring, and agricultural assessments.

Satellogic's patented Earth imaging technology enables the company to provide high-quality, planetary-scale insights at a competitive price via its information platform.

Satellogic's constellation, named “Aleph-1,” consisted of 48 operational satellites as of May 2024. Each satellite, dubbed “NewSat,” has multi-spectral cameras capable of capturing high-resolution imagery from sun-synchronous LEO. Introduced in March 2024, its NewSat Mark-V offers enhanced features such as 70 cm native resolution and an increased daily collection capacity of 350,000 sq km per satellite.

Its constellation-as-a-service program offers sub-meter-resolution imagery with high-frequency satellite access. Customers can revisit specific points of interest multiple times daily using Satellogic’s extended ground station network.

Additionally, Satellogic announced its Space Systems business line, offering a satellite purchase program designed to lower the barrier to EO spacecraft ownership. Options start below USD 10 million and significantly shorten the time to operation from three to eight months. Space Systems caters to governments requiring asset ownership for enhanced geospatial intelligence and global tasking autonomy. Satellogic has also released its data on Hugging Face for AI model training.

Key customers and partnerships

Satellogic has secured contracts with government agencies, such as the Republic of Albania, to provide dedicated satellite constellations and high-resolution imagery for various national applications, including agriculture management, illegal activity monitoring, border security, and environmental monitoring.

In March 2023, the company partnered with SkyFi, a satellite imagery marketplace, to allow SkyFi's customers to task Satellogic satellites directly through its platform.

In May 2022, Satellogic partnered with SpaceX to reserve launch capacity for its 68 upcoming satellites. In the same month, the company also partnered with Mayday.ai, a risk and disaster intelligence provider, to improve data intelligence for risk and disaster management.

In September 2024, the company was selected for NASA’s Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program to supply NASA with high-resolution multispectral imagery.
