Anheuser-Busch InBev (Euronext: ABI), commonly known as AB InBev, is a Belgium-based multinational brewing company and is the largest brewer in the world by both volume and revenue. The company operates 500+ beer brands in 50+ countries. AB InBev reported revenue of USD 57.8 billion in 2022.
AB InBev has a brewing history of 600+ years and was formed in 2008 by way of merging Anheuser-Busch and InBev. The company acquired SAB Miller in 2016 in order to have access to emerging markets such as Africa and Latin America, resulting in two of the world’s leading beer companies coming together. AV InBev has been listed on the Euronext Brussels exchange since 2016.
AB InBev’s major revenue share comes from the beer business (~89% of total revenue in 2022). Some of the more well-known beer brands owned by the company include Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, Beck’s, Hoegaarden, Leffe, and Michelob Ultra. The company also has a relatively small segment (~11%), where it generates revenue from non-beer businesses such as soft drinks.
North America (~29% of total revenue in 2022) was the company’s largest market, followed by the Middle Americas (~25%), South America (~20%), EMEA (~14%), and Asia Pacific (~11%). AB InBev expects 2023 EBITDA to grow in line with its medium-term outlook of 4%–8% YoY (3.3% YoY in 2022) and revenue growth to outpace EBITDA growth. AB InBevit plans to make 20% of its beer volume low- and non-alcoholic by 2025. AB InBev is also working toward achieving zero emissions by 2040.
