The funding was used to expand the annual production of liquid hydrogen pumps at FEF's California manufacturing facility by a factor of 10. Previously, in November 2021, the company raised <a href="https://www.ocbj.com/news/hydrogen-co-firstelement-fuel-gets-105m/">USD 105 million</a> in a Series D funding round. The round was led by Air Water, MUFG, Nikkiso, and Japan Infrastructure Initiate. The funds were used to deploy 31–80 hydrogen stations by 2024 to refuel heavy-duty trucks and light-duty cars.

44.01 is an Omani carbon sequestration company operating from its UK office. The company plans to mineralize carbon dioxide (CO2) captured from both flue-gas capture and direct air capture (DAC). Quanta Dialysis Technologies is a medical technology company focused on developing innovative hemodialysis solutions. The company submitted a 510(k) premarket notification to the FDA seeking to expand the use of the Quanta Dialysis System to include self-care, in-home hemodialysis in the US.
Key customers and partnerships
The Quanta Dialysis System was commercially available in the UK for both home and hospital use. In the US, the device was FDA-cleared for use in chronic and acute care settings. The company conducted a Home Run study, a prospective, multi-center, open-label trial to assess the efficacy and safety of the Quanta Dialysis System for home hemodialysis. Out of 32 evaluable participants who completed the Home Run study, 93% opted to continue using the Quanta Dialysis System in their homes through an IDE extension. Quanta has been working to expand its presence in the US market, with plans to commercialize the device with new software capabilities.

The truck being used for the trial is a heavy-duty model from Toyota, featuring a hydrogen fuel-cell system that generates electricity and only emits water. Industrial gases provider, Air Liquide, will provide renewable hydrogen for the project.
 The collaboration is motivated by the goal to decrease Coca-Cola's carbon footprint in its logistics operations, as well supporting Toyota's objective to completely eliminate tailpipe carbon emissions in its logistics operations by the year 2040.
