Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA. (FRE.DE) is a European multinational healthcare provider based in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany. The company generated EUR 40.8 billion (~USD 43.6 billion) in 2022.

Fresenius operates through four business segments: Fresenius Medical Care, which offers products and services that address chronic kidney failure; Fresenius Kabi, which offers products and solutions for chronical illnesses (including biopharmaceuticals, IV fluids, etc.); Fresenius Helios, which is a leading private hospital operator in Europe; and Fresenius Vamed, a post-acute care provider that offers project management services.

Fresenius operates 90 production sites around the world , including in China, Japan, the US, Sweden, and Germany. The company’s main markets are Europe and North America, which collectively accounted for ~84% of total revenue in 2022.

Fresenius expects low to mid-single-digit revenue growth in 2023. The company has set a cost savings target of EUR 1 billion by 2025 and is also seeking to divest several non-core assets, including plans to deconsolidate Fresenius Medical Care in 2023. Fresenius targets to achieve climate-neutrality by 2040.
