Based in India, and launched in February 2021, the Kalamint platform lets users create, sell, and collect digital artwork on Tezos—an open-source platform for assets and applications—and create NFTs using the FA2 token standard. The company represents itself as India’s first digital art gallery based on Tezos and endorses the cost savings of the Tezos platform. The company has also announced intentions to expand globally.
In February 2021, Kalamint raised an undisclosed amount of funding from blockchain venture studio and fund Draper Goren Holm and seed investment fund Amesten Capital. Subsequent to the funding, Kalamint opened up the platform to more than 50 selected artists to sell their work.
