Founded in Singapore, Skin Inc develops custom skin serums based on information gathered through an online quiz and a skin optimization device. The company’s custom serum “My Daily Dose" is formed using Skin Inc’s proprietary diagnostic tool and algorithm, which incorporates environmental and lifestyle factors. The company also uses a proprietary encapsulation technology from Japan, which ensures the potency and purity of the active ingredients in its serums by protecting them from exposure to light and oxidation. Skin Inc’s skin optimizer device “TRI-LIGHT” uses 3 Megahertz low-frequency stimulation and LED chromotherapy to assist in regenerating skin cells. Customers can subscribe to receive a skin optimizer device and on a monthly basis, four personalized cocktail serums for USD 72–95 per month. (January 2024). The customers could also directly purchase a personalized serum for USD 95 (as of January 2024).
As of January 2024, Skin Inc’s products were available in over 78 cities in the US, Europe and Asia with over 200 retail distribution points including Skin Inc concept stores, Sephora and Nordstrom outlets and selected online partners.
Key customers and partnerships
In March 2022, Skin Inc partnered with SABI AI Corp to launch the world's first 360 wellness and skin health coach app, which enables customers to track and personalize their skin health journey and wellness. The app combines computer-vision face scans and hydrosensor technology and claims to leverage more than 1 million profiles and 200,000 face scans.
Funding and financials
In January 2021, Skin Inc secured a Pre-Series A funding round led by Mistletoe to invest in further developing its cloud data and AI Infrastructure, support its global expansion and marketing efforts, and on marketing activities designed to improve customer experience and personalization.
