Husk-to-Home creates siding material for use in building construction. This startup venture was established by a team of undergraduates and alumni from the University of California, Riverside, looking to find alternatives to coconut wood, plywood, and bamboo for use as building materials. The company uses waste products such as thermoplastics, rice husks, and rice straw to create a wood alternative. As of December 2020, Husk-to-Home was in the process of analyzing and testing product quality, and aims to commercialize the material for use as siding.
