Founded in 2012, The Vegg produces and distributes plant-based egg substitutes. The US-based company has introduced four products: Vegan Egg Yolk, Power Scramble, French Toast Mix, and Uncaged Baking Mix, all priced at USD 9.99 (for 116 gr. to 170 gr. of product).
The products are made using a combination of soy protein isolate, pea protein isolate, and fortified nutritional yeast. The Vegg claims the product has a taste and a texture similar to egg yolks. The products are currently available in the US in around 60 retail locations. The startup has also entered the European market through a retailer in the UK, with demand expected from schools, hotels, and the military.
