Claap is a Paris-based asynchronous meeting platform enabling teams to create short video messages for updates, feedback, and project planning. It also allows members to comment on specific points in the video with a set due date for others to respond. Claap integrates with third-party collaboration tools such as Trello and Jira, allowing a series of video messages created for a particular project to be viewed at any time. The platform is expected to monetize via a subscription model.
Founders Robin Bonduelle and Pierre Touzeau have previously held executive roles at companies such as 360Learning, Ogury (a marketing and advertising company), and Rocket Internet (a German incubator).
In June 2021, Claap announced that it had raised USD 3 million in a pre-seed funding round from LocalGlobe, Headline, E. Ventures, and Kima Ventures. The round included angels such as Mathilde Collin (co-founder, Front), Tony Jamous (co-founder, Oyster), and Matt Robinson (founder, Nest and GoCardless), among others. Claap is currently in private beta, and the funds will be used for platform development.
