Modern Meat

Modern Meat, a subsidiary of Modern Plant Based Foods Inc., is a Vancouver-based alternative protein company that produces 100% vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free meat alternatives. The company's product line includes plant-based burgers, mini burgers, crumble, and crabless cakes. Modern Meat's goal is to provide consumers with alternatives to traditional meat without compromising on taste. In June 2022, the company launched its products in select Whole Foods Market stores across North America, distributed through a major distributor in British Columbia. Modern Meat has also expanded its reach through partnerships with restaurant chains. The company collaborated with Carbone Restaurant Group (CRG) to co-develop plant-based pizzas for their FAST FIRED by Carbone chain, which planned to open up to 100 new franchises across Canada as of December 2022. Modern Meat Crumble was featured on the "Modern Fiesta" plant-based pizza at FAST FIRED by Carbone, available in-store and through various delivery apps.

Key customers and partnerships

Modern Meat has established partnerships with several food service companies. In addition to its collaboration with Carbone Restaurant Group, Modern Meat supplies its plant-based products to FAST FIRED by Carbone, a pizza chain known for fresh, authentic, sustainable tailored-made pizzas. As of December 2022, FAST FIRED by Carbone had locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. Another CRG venture, Plantza Pizza, also showcases Modern Meat as a valued supplier, featuring the Modern Meat Crab & Artichoke plant-based pizza on its menu. Modern Meat's products are available through various delivery platforms, including Skip the Dishes, DoorDash, and Uber Eats, expanding the company's reach to consumers.
