CellPoint Digital (CellPoint) is a British company offering an omnichannel payment orchestration platform and gateway for merchants to accept and manage payments across their apps, websites, and other channels. The platform primarily focuses on offering several global payment methods for the travel industry merchants (such as airlines) and accepted 28 card schemes and 168 alternative payment methods as of January 2022.
The platform lets merchants adopt a multi-acquirer payment model and uses intelligent routing, which reportedly lowers the operational costs of accepting cross-border payments (by up to 20%). Merchants can also reduce payment friction through the platform by allowing customers to make payments using stored cards, payment links, loyalty points, and split payments, among others.
Key customers and partnerships
The company has operations spread across the globe with offices in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. As of January 2022, its customer base comprised several leading global airlines, such as Emirates, Southwest, and Cebu Pacific.
CellPoint partnered with Nium in March 2023, to improve its cross-border payment infrastructure for merchants. Nium’s global pay-out network reportedly supported around 100 currencies in over 190 countries (with real-time transactions in around 100 countries) at the time.
Funding and financials
CellPoint raised USD 25 million in equity financing in January 2022, to invest in expanding its offering to new international markets and verticals (such as retail, gaming, crypto, and digital content).
