Dire Wolves is an Australian Esports organization, based in New Zealand, predominantly involved in League of Legends esports. In 2020, it expanded to Overwatch and FIFA esports with the acquisition of N8 Esports and Sydney Drop Bears. In addition, it forayed into Apex Legends esports in early February 2021.

In February 2021, the company announced that it acquired competing team, Avant Gaming. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. As a result of the acquisition, the two teams will amalgamate under the Dire Wolves brand. With the deal, Dire Wolves officially enters Counter-Strike esports. Moreover, Dire Wolves announced that it had sold Avant’s recently awarded League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) slot to Peace.gg. The move was prompted by the rules that dictate that one organization cannot own and operate two separate teams.
