Rock is a project management platform for remote teams launched by Kenzo Fong (former Google, Android, and Uber employee) and Ming Li (former Google and Bytedance employee). The platform combines synchronous and asynchronous methods of communication. It combines messaging, tasks, files, video calls, and notes in one tool and integrates with Zoom and Google Drive. The platform is being used in around 50 countries, including India, UK, Kenya, Brazil and the US.
In February 2021, the company raised USD 1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Section 32 with participation from high-profile individual investors such as Manik Gupta (ex-Uber Chief Product Officer), Aadil Mamujee (Head of Product at Automattic/WordPress.com), and Marc Vanlerberghe (ex-Google VP and former CMO of Medallia). The funding proceeds will be allocated toward expanding its presence globally.
