Founded in 2020 by Marinne Pearson, Steve Arntz, Taylor Murphy, and Todd Ericksen, Campfire is a cohort-based management training platform that aims to create better managers by providing them with group-based learning content, discussions, and guided activities. In addition, Campfire facilitates feedback from a manager’s respective team and provides the tools required for implementation of course material. The groups, or cohorts, are known as “campfires” and consist of 12-15 people that meet twice a month for an hour to accommodate every manager's schedule. The company reports that, according to participant surveys, more than 9 out of 10 partcipants consider campfires to be enjoyable, and believe the learning to be impactful and useful.
In August 2021, Campfire raised USD 2.5 million in seed funding led by Sepio Capital with participation from Kickstart Fund, Peak Capital, and multiple other angel investors.
