CarbonBuilt develops low-carbon concrete by utilizing captured carbon. The company’s proprietary Reversa technology uses CO2 from flue-gas capture sites and DAC sources to produce precast concrete products. This technology permanently sequesters carbon into calcium carbonate and results in a 10%-30% reduction in raw material costs and up to 70%-100% reduction in CO2 emissions, replacing traditional blocks at no additional cost.
A single concrete block produced using the Reversa platform is able to permanently store about ¾ of a pound of CO2.
