Nimbus Kitchens

Nimbus Kitchens is a New York-based cloud kitchen operator providing commercial kitchen spaces for small-scale restaurants looking to focus on delivery-only demand. The company also serves as a place for community gatherings, with a front-of-house space for customers to interact with the brands at Nimbus through cooking demonstrations, events, and chef interactions. Nimbus also offers in-store pick-up and a small seating space for dine-in.

Nimbus Kitchens’ current facility includes both permanent and hourly-rented ghost kitchen spaces. Rates on an hourly basis range from USD 20 for a prep-only kitchen to USD 35 per hour for the shift-kitchens and can be rented out for a minimum of 20 hours per month. Businesses can use Nimbus’s online dashboard to book kitchen time, rent storage space, pay invoices, and store permit and insurance information, according to the company.

The company currently has one restaurant - Roberta’s Pizza - operating on a full-time permanent basis, while the other spaces are rented out in shifts and shared by a bakery in the morning, a lunch business during the day, and a late-night delivery company. Other Nimbus members include Quinn, a modern on-demand meal plan delivery service, Alchemista, a bespoke food-and-beverage service, and Brooklyn Batched Cocktails by Gabriel Noble, a provider of ready-to-drink batched craft cocktail delivery, retail, and catering services.

As of February 2022, the company had one location on the Lower East Side of New York city and two more in the pipeline in downtown Brooklyn and on the Upper West Side. Further expansions were reported to be in the pipeline.
