Italy-based FlyingBasket develops cargo drones with significant payload capacities. The company's key offering is the “FB3” drone, designed as a drone-as-a-dervice solution. This drone can carry up to 220 lbs and is capable of delivering heavy loads to various environments including urban areas, forests, and wind parks. Its design allows for flexibility in cargo delivery, using a box compartment and a sling rope for different types of cargo. The drone has been used for commercial deliveries since 2020.
In February 2024, the company obtained Italy's first LUC (Light UAS Operator Certificate) from ENAC (Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile), which is recognized across the EU and permits self-authorized BVLOS operations.
