Battlefy is a Canadian esports platform that works with tournament organizers, players, and brands to run esports tournaments.
In February 2020, Nintendo partnered with Battlefy to host competitions for Super Smash Bros. In addition, European football league Bundesliga also partnered with the platform to host the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL), a set of competitive FIFA tournaments across Europe. As of September 2020, the platform is used by more than 150,000 tournament organizers globally.
In October 2020, the company announced that they have entered a partnership with Stack Sports to provide esports tournament and event management services for traditional sports organizations. The partnership allows Battlefy to leverage Stack Sports’ reach of 35 million users across 35 countries to increase its global reach.
The company’s latest round of funding came in 2017 when it raised USD 9 million in Series A funding from a consortium of investors, including Deep Space Ventures and Cherry Tree Investments, among others.
