Playbase began as a white-label esports tournament platform on a subscription-based business model. As of February 2022, the platform had 40 active subscribers and 250 total customers, having hosted over 500 tournaments. The white-label solution will only be available to enterprise customers following the introduction of its revamped solution (October 2022) at the intersection of Web3 and esports, set to launch in Q1 2023. The platform will host tournaments on VALORANT, FIFA, League of Legends, and Rocket League.
The company partnered with Concordium in September 2022 to provide an additional layer of security, using blockchain technology. Through the partnership, it aims to eliminate the presence of fake accounts and any unpaid prize pools. A meta hub will be launched in Q2 2023 to facilitate partnerships between tournament organizers and other brands.
