Spot is a mobile and browser-based platform for voice conference calls. It uses Google’s voice transcription software, allowing users to obtain a transcript of the last 40 seconds of a conversation using voice commands, with the data stored in the cloud for future reference. It also incorporates noise-canceling technology to block background noise. In addition, Spot sends follow-up notes via email to meeting participants.
The company also has plans to offer edited call scripts highlighting the most vital information in the future. In addition, Spot currently offers a freemium plan but intends to introduce paid subscriptions eventually. The platform is currently in closed beta.
In May 2021, Spot announced that it raised USD 5 million in a seed funding round led by Ilya Fushman (Kleiner Perkins), following its USD 1.9 million pre-seed funding round in March 2021. The fresh capital will be used to seek growth opportunities and introduce the platform to around 6,000 waitlist users.
