Jungle France is a French company that specializes in vertical farming and hydroponics. The company claims to be the first vertical farm in France and supplies major market brands with fresh produce. Jungle France offers its growers options between herbs, microgreens, green leafy vegetables, and cosmetic plants such as Lily of the Valley, chamomile, and lemon balm. The company’s products can be found in over 200 stores in Paris.
It claims to produce 30x more produce than traditional greenhouses. The company operates a 5,200 sq m farm in Paris that produces up to 425 tons per year, with plans for two additional farms in the coming years.
Key customers and partnerships
In December 2020, Jungle France signed an export deal with IGS , a vertical farming company, introducing IGS indoor growing platforms to Jungle’s operations. The company partnered with perfume giant Firmenich in December 2021 to launch “Muguet Firgood,” a fragrance extract derived from Lily of the Valley. In December 2023, Hai Phong, a city in Vietnam, announced plans to partner with Jungle to bring its vertical farming technology to the Vietnamese community.
Funding and financials
Jungle France raised EUR 42 million (~USD 50 million) in a mix of equity and debt funding in March 2021 from Founders Future to develop three vertical farms in France and expand its team.
