Based in Switzerland, Relio is a digital bank, offering a Swiss IBAN account aimed at freelancers, startups, and SMEs. It operates under a subscription model with charges starting at CHF 19 and varying based on the customer’s requirements. The account has no minimum deposit requirement and includes a physical and virtual debit card as well as separate wallets to hold multiple foreign currencies with the option to convert or make international payments with no additional fees. The account also features an automated compliance system, which it claims removes the long wait times required to carry out transactions. In addition, it integrates with business and accounting tools, and each customer is assigned a contact person for any queries.
As of January 2023, the bank was open for signups to join its waitlist and was awaiting a FinTech license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
Funding and financials
In January 2023, the company raised EUR 3 million (~USD 3.2 million) in a funding round led by TX Ventures, HTGF, and SIX Fintech Ventures. It aimed to funnel the fresh capital to launch digital payment accounts for small businesses.
