Bea Fertility offers an at-home, IntraCervical Insemination (ICI) treatment on a monthly subscription basis. The ICI is intended to be a low cost, at-home, and low-stress alternative to in-vitro fertilization (IVF). A single IVF treatment can cost USD 7,000-12,000 while the ICI monthly subscription amounts to GBP 300 (USD 417) per month.
The subscription provides ICI devices, ovulation tests, pregnancy tests, and an app to monitor ovulation and fertility. Bea Fertility claims that its ICI can improve the chances of conception by 40% if used for three months, and by up to 60% if used over six months. The company also claims that its service offers the same efficacy levels as Intrauterine insemination (IUI) treatments.
The UK-based company raised GBP 800,000 (USD 1.1 million) in a pre-seed funding round led by Calm/Storm Ventures in April 2021. The company intends to commercially launch its product to early adopters in Q4 2021.
