Rita offers a mobile application that provides users with a dashboard to centrally monitor and manage their personal data. Rita connects with the user’s Google and Facebook accounts and collates all data collected about them, providing the ability to see which companies are using the data and enabling granular controls over access rights to the data. Rita also allows users to exercise their rights, such as removal requests, stipulated by privacy regulations such as GDPR.
Rita launched its app in March 2021. While its offering is available for free, the company also provides a pro tier, which will include additional features, such as status updates on data subject requests and automated email follow-ups. The offerings under this tier were still under beta testing as of March 2021. Rita does not collect any data analyzed by this service, and all processing is done locally on users’ devices. The company employed nine staff members as of March 2021 and expected to start supporting additional data sources, such as Instagram, Spotify, and LinkedIn, during 2021.
