MAXPRO Fitness commercially launched a connected portable cable machine, “SmartConnect,” in January 2020. The device comes with embedded electronics and sensors that integrate with its coaching app via Bluetooth. The company incorporates its proprietary resistance mechanism, “PowerClutch,” into its devices, which allows 50 resistance settings ranging from 5 lbs. to 300 lbs. The cable machine is available for USD 998, with the option for users to bundle it with other MAXPRO equipment, such as its foldable bench and slimline wall track for USD 1,749. Its coaching app permits users to view workout data, progress toward set goals, post workouts, create challenges among users, and access instructor-led live fitness classes. Users are charged USD 19 monthly to access premium workout content.
During the five months ended May 2021, the company sold more than 10,000 units in 56 countries, including the US and Canada, translating to more than USD 10 million in revenue.
In May 2021, MAXPRO Fitness received an undisclosed amount of funds from former basketball player Shaquille O’Neal. Along with the investment, the company also announced a strategic partnership with the player. The company intends to utilize the funds toward introducing new digital fitness offerings and next-generation hardware.
