The company cultivates its mushrooms in vertically integrated indoor lab farms using proprietary methods, which are claimed to maximize growth during the lifecycle, accelerate production, and maintain consistent quality of final products.
Sempera products, which are certified vegan, non-GMO-verified, and approved as USDA organic, target functional foods, nutraceuticals, and cosmeceutical industries. Its product portfolio includes mushrooms, specifically formulated mushroom blends, and Mamu (a mushroom-based ingredient). Launched in November 2022 into foodservice outlets in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mamu uses both the mycelium and the fruiting body of the mushroom in its production. The company also provides end-to-end services for the production of superfoods, supplements, and wellness products.
