Stake is a digital real estate investment platform that allows users to invest in fractional ownership of properties in Dubai. Founded in 2020 by Manar Mahmassani, Rami Tabbara, and Ricardo Brizido, Stake aims to make real estate investing more accessible and transparent. The platform enables investors to purchase shares in pre-vetted rental properties with as little as 500 AED (approximately USD 136). Stake's proprietary algorithm evaluates potential real estate deals to identify high-quality investment opportunities.

The company manages the entire investment process, from property acquisition and tenant management to rent collection and distribution. Investors receive monthly rental income proportionate to their ownership stake. As of March 2023, Stake managed over 75 properties with a combined value of AED 116 million (USD 32 million). The platform utilizes a special purpose vehicle (SPV) structure for each property, with investors receiving shares in the SPV according to their investment size. Investments typically have a 5-year holding period, after which the property is sold. Stake is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and has an Islamic Finance Window endorsement, allowing it to offer Shariah-compliant investments.

Key customers and partnerships

Stake's platform has experienced significant growth, with over 121,000 registered users and more than 5,000 active investors as of March 2023. The company's top five investor bases are in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UK, and India. Stake has partnered with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to offer a pathway to the UAE Golden Visa for investors who commit at least AED 2,000,000 (approximately USD 545,000) through the platform. This collaboration provides qualified investors with the opportunity to obtain a 10-year renewable residency permit in the UAE. Additionally, Stake has expanded its operations to Saudi Arabia, where it is regulated by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to offer real estate investment fund opportunities in and from the Kingdom.
