Finloup

Finloup provides BNPL payment options to customers for online and in-store purchases in four interest-free installments, primarily in the fashion, high-end grocery, mobility, jewelry, furniture, and electronics products and services. Merchants are charged a commission based on the basket size. Finloup claims its proprietary credit scoring methodology, which uses open banking data such as income, savings, bills, and expense management behavior of customers, differentiates it from its peers who use standardized scores from organized credit bureaus to measure customer creditworthiness. As of November 2021, Finloup operated in Greece with more than 20 merchant partners, including one of Greece’s leading fashion brands, Funky Buddha.

In November 2021, Finloup raised EUR 1 million (approx. USD 1.1 million) in a pre-seed funding round led by Velocity Partners, with participation from TECS Capital, Everypay, and a number of angel investors. The new funds are intended to be used to strengthen its footprint in its home market of Greece, expand operations to other Southeast European markets, and expand its merchant network by adding at least 200 business by mid-2023.
