AtomicJar is a company focused on making integration testing easier for developers across the software development lifecycle. It is the lead commercial sponsor behind the popular open-source Testcontainers library, a framework that helps developers execute integration testing for containerized and microservices-based applications. The Testcontainers library enables developers to spin up testing environments for common integration and UI tests using Docker containers, acting as throwaway instances for production-like replicas of external resources like databases, web browsers, or other microservices.

In January 2023, AtomicJar raised USD 25 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. This funding is being used to scale the company's development team and go-to-market efforts. Alongside the funding, AtomicJar released its Testcontainers Cloud service as a public beta, providing a managed service for developers to scale testing operations. Testcontainers Cloud allows developers to seamlessly route integration tests to cloud servers, fine-tune test environments to production-grade specifications, and resolve the "works on my machine" problem. By sending tests to the cloud, developers can free up local compute resources and enable tests to run up to 3x faster.

In December 2023, Docker acquired AtomicJar, making the 19 employees part of its new testing division. Leading engineering organizations like DoorDash, Spotify, Uber, and Netflix have adopted Testcontainers as the de facto standard for dev-first testing.
