Sernova

Sernova is developing the Cell Pouch System, an implantable medical device for cell therapy delivery. The company is conducting a Phase 1/2 clinical trial using the Cell Pouch with donor islets to treat type one diabetes, with some patients achieving insulin independence. In May 2022, Sernova partnered with Evotec to develop an off-the-shelf iPSC-based islet replacement therapy for the Cell Pouch. Sernova is also advancing Cell Pouch applications for hypothyroidism and hemophilia A. The company is based in London, Ontario.
